About Catalina State Park

Catalina State Park, just a short drive from Tucson, spans over 5,500 acres of foothills, canyons, and streams, making it a haven for nearly 5,000 saguaro cacti, various desert plants, and wildlife. It’s a perfect spot for camping, picnicking, and especially bird watching, with over 150 bird species recorded. Hikers and bikers can enjoy trails that meander through the park into the Coronado National Forest, reaching elevations around 3,000 feet.
